Recently I heard a clip of someone bemoaning that Elon Musk wasn't elected, so somehow has no "business" making his decisions and therefore recommendations. Huh...so, if your argument isn't strong enough, just criticise the source of the opposing viewpoint. Got it.
English is a difficult enough language to interpret correctly when its rules are followed, let alone when the speaker or writer chooses not to follow those rules.
